Yeah I knew that...
However, the profits they are going to make with the CSeries will be splitted between them and the government, until they decide to buyback the part of the government... but the part of the government will also worth more I'm pretty sure.

They created a new entity (kind of like a business inside of their business; what I mean is CSeries is a business within BT now).

So... if CSeries is profitable, the stake of the government will be worthing more than what they invested (that's what I believe... because otherwise it would have been stupid to invest 1B$ to take the risks and not make any cash out of it)

 

However, at some point, Bombardier needed that support so I totally agree they decided to split the stake in 2, in order to share the risk... but you have to understand they also share the profit now (not the profit they make out from other planes or BT.. but profit from CS product)
