At the risk of getting torched it could also be possible that there are interested parties in negotiations and terms can't be reached once details are discussed. It's not inconceivable that POET is hard lining their position based on potential value during negotiations.

No one really knows what is going on behind closed doors but it should be certain that they aren't sitting behind those doors alone.
