Price gouging and capitalismYou know, how many times have I heard American politicians talk about free market and that the market will always regulate itself. That's capitalism... until it's not. I find this price gouging discussions ridiculous. If there's a problem with price gouging, then introduce some laws to protect against it. Heck, the price of milk is regulated where I live, would it be so hard to introduce in the bio healthcare world? Do we really depend on shareholders' goodness of heart to keep prices of medicine acceptable? Something is broken here and it's not the healthcare companies.
As for Concordia and the most recent "price gouging" article, if it's all they've got, then shorts are really running out of ideas. It's very entertaining though, and a good opportunity to add if you've got dry powder.
