Solar impracticalI live in a predominantly residential area on west side of Toronto, and of several hundred homes only know of 2 with solar panels.
One is a good friend who says forget it if you tried to depend on just solar, and dreads the day when due to maintenance issues he will loose more than his income from it, just getting the system off his roof. And he is getting one of the higher feed in rates.
As for nuclear pollution, the whole city of Toronto and many smaller cities like Oshawa live next to the Pickering nuclear power plant and no one has ever been impacted by it in any way. Absolutely no pollution. It runs 24/7 year long, through the coldest nights, hottest days flat out, no interruptions except for scheduled maintenance.
