So Moose,
are you a communist? Do you not believe in paid work?
These Directors are working for the company - and are getting shares at market.
Which means they are worth nothing unless the value of the company is increased. Then the value of the options goes up - so they are incented to increase the value of the company and therefore the share price.

I am a capitalist - and the current currency of the company is its shares. Once they go above the strike price they become valuable - so the better the company does so to do the Directors. It is called incentive. I also believe people should be paid for their work.

Further, this is one of the most advanced performance based packages that most large advanced firms use.

So so if you don't believe in capitalism and paying people for their work and creating an incentive for them to drive share value then their are a few countries that you should move to - North Korea comes to mind.

Otherwise grow up.
