RE:RE:Fort Mac
Yes, LIQ does have 7 stores their. I am guessing that 2 stores, 1 in Abasands and 1 in Beacon Hill were probably destroyed by the fire, or at least heavily damaged. Then 2 more stores in Thickwood may be at risk and depending how this fire spreads. That leaves the other 3 stores which are located down town and should be okay. I suspect the company hasn't reported on this as they know about as much about there loses right now as you do. Everyone has been evacuated so there in nobody left to take inventory and report back to the company (yet). I am sure when the time is right and they have more information they will. As to loses I am sure they are covered by fire insurance so this wont cut deep into there pockets. They also don't own the buildings so all they would have to do is move out and close shop, and let the owners clean up the mess. Which there were probably too many liquor stores there now anyway and obviously they all weren't doing so good lately, so maybe a good thing. Perhaps one could look at this as negative news for LIQ, and no doubt at first it will be. But in the long run and short term, this fire is going to bring in a lot of new people for rebuilding, and a lot of new money will be spread around, which otherwise would not take place without this fire. So in a way it is a blessing in disguise for LIQ, but a real tragedy for my friends who still live their.
