RE:RE:RE:This is how the First NationsBe careful... the main point is that the mine will be on their land and might damage their environment (forest, wilderness, river). In the past, the miners were not really careful when extracting the ore, so I can understand they are suspicious.
White people took all the St-Lawrence valley for themselves, leaving the north for the FN. Now white people are lurking to take northern resources also, so you can understand why they are so prudent with mining projects.
If the miners do not understand and respect their fear, they will not make progress with FN. The First Nations must be included in the project so everybody could benefit from it. For them, White people are always in a hurry to extract the resources and leave the place after they are done. At the end, their environment is destroyed and the FN were the ones loosing their end of the bargain.
If we, as investors, want to rush things and vent about FN, we are not helping the cause. This project must be developed in a respectful manner, otherwise it will not be successful.
I invested in this project knowing that FNs would have been involved at some point. I am confident that Matamec, the governments and the FNs will eventually find a win-win-win agreement. It might take time, but we will get there.
All in my opinion, of course.
