Its 100% owned Karowe mine is a producer of large Type IIA diamonds, more than 10.8 carats, including the historic 1,758 Sewelo, the 1,109 carat Lesedi La Rona and the 813-carat Constellation.

If I were the operator of a mine that keeps chucking out large stones I think I might investigate the added-value route as well.

It might pay off big and become a useful strategy or it might not, but best to not spend the future wondering about it.
