In addition to what louisc said, there is so far NO CLUE that they even know how to 'repair' the cyanide recovery circuit, which they have known for months was not working to spec! Suppose the repair requires new equipment, that will take several weeks at minimum just to procure, assuming it is sitting somewhere and available for sale. And what might it cost? No clue.
And how much money does AUE still have available to pay the workers and keep the lights on, besides making repairs? I'm surprised nobody on the board bothered to estimated how much money they are losing every day since production was halted? How about $250,000 or so?
While the engineers continue to scratch their heads, I suspect there are serious discussions going on about whether the company will survive with its current shareholders. Unfortunately the small shareholders will be the last to know the outcome.
By the way, the BEST possible news will be that they restarted production yesterday (though very unlikely). Will this suddenly make AUE more valuable? No way. Management credibility will go from 2/10 to 0/10. Will the creditors continue to put their trust in the clowns? Or will they force a sale of the assets, as they are able to do any day they choose? Of course I could be wrong, but any possibility of current shareholders being rewarded is fading literally with each hour that passes without news.
AUE is simply fantastic
Buy low (like now), wait, Stock goes up, sell, wait until managment makes the next mistake, on we go for the next round.
And so on until CH11.
How can one managment be so bloody .....
