Apple explores charging stations for electric vehicles

From Yahoo - May 25, 2015 - SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Apple Inc is investigating how to charge electric cars, talking to charging station companies and hiring engineers with expertise in the area, according to people familiar with the matter and a review of LinkedIn profiles.

For more than a year, Silicon Valley has been buzzing about Apple's plan to build an electric car. Now the company appears to be laying the groundwork for the infrastructure and related software crucial to powering such a product.

Google for the rest.  Big news for lithium when the world's largest company and by far the leading trend setter where tech is concerned gets involved in such a fundamental way.  Point being, lithium use has barely even started.  We're at about the stage crude was in say 1880 or so.  Give or take a few dips, crude consumption never stopped growing until just recently (thankfully and not soon enough).  Might be disruptive tech in future, but for now, lithium based energy storage is where the world is headed.
