This is great information, thank you! It makes sense to me that they could get a 1% improvement in the engine - on Pratt's Wikipedia page they show Bombardier's turbofan with a 12:1 bypass ratio and 14% fuel savings and Airbus' turbofan with a 12.5:1 bypass ratio and 15% fuel savings. It would be great if they could benefit from supplier R&D on both the engine and airframe components like winglets. I appreciate your response!

bombardier itself probably isn`t but GKN Aeorospace maybe as they are the producer supplier for the CSeries. Plus based on last years comments the CSeries team will always look for improvements
