Comparing Energizer with companies on the African mainland I believe when comparing Graphite Explorer Developers that will likely be mining graphite in the future, only Magnis Resources compares favorably with Energizer Resources.
As for Syrah Resources, her claims to a huge deposit that can supply the entire global graphite market should be viewed carefully.
As for quality and the amount of large flake, both Energizer and Magnis are on similar plains.
As for Magnis, her graphite is not in Proven and Probable Reserve category and were never been stated as such. Their Nachu Graphite Project project consists of mineral resources estimated at 156 Million metric tons at 5.2% graphite carbon (Cg) at 3% Cg cutoff grade. Please see the table taken from this link on their website https://magnis.com.au/nachu-graphite-project/ under All Categories . In addition she is planing to provide large amounts of graphite from non proven and probable reserves
When compared to this link from the Enegizer website https://www.energizerresources.com/2015/373-energizer-resources-inc-announces-positive-results-of-its-feasibility-study which mainly shows their production basis on Proven and Probable Reserves of 22,537,000 tonne or 22.5MT grading 7.04%., Energizer looks much better.
In Energizer's report they show additional measured resources consisting of 23.62 MT grading 6.32% carbon, plus indicated resources of 76.75 MT grading 6.25% C and inferred mineral resources of 40.91 MT at 5.78% note: MT equals metric tons (tonne).
Thus Energizer's proven and probable reserves of 22.5MT plus the measured, indicated, and inferred resources totaling 163.78MT have an average grade well above Magnis Resources 156MT grading 5.2% in non proven and probable reserves.
Excerpts:
RESOURCES
The Molo project hosts the following resources:
-
Measured mineral resource of 23.62 MT grading 6.32% carbon (“C”).
-
Indicated mineral resource of 76.75 MT grading 6.25% C.
-
Inferred mineral resource of 40.91 MT at 5.78% C.
Effective date of the Mineral Resource tabulation is August 14, 2014. The Mineral Resources are classified according to the Canadian Institute of Mining definitions. A cut-off grade of 4% C was used for the “higher grade” zones and 2% C for the “lower grade” zones. Please note that while the ‘high’ grade resource occurs within the ‘low’ grade resource, each was estimated and reported separately. A relative density of 2.36 tonnes per cubic metre was assigned to the mineralized zones for the resource estimation. The resource remains open along strike and to depth. The Mineral Resources above are inclusive of the Mineral Reserves below.
PROVEN AND PROBABLE MINERAL RESERVES
As a result of the FS, the following maiden proven and probable mineral reserves are declared.
Category | Tonnage | C Grade (%) |
Proven | 14,170,000 | 7.00 |
Probable | 8,367,000 | 7.04 |
Proven and Probable | 22,437,000 | 7.02 |
Proven reserves are reported as the Measured Resources inside the designed open pit and above the grade cut off of 4.5% C. Similarly, the Probable Reserves are reported as the Indicated Resources inside the designed open pit and above the grade cut-off of 4.5% C.
I like Magnis, but believe Energizer is a better choice for the above reasons. In addition violent revolutions have not been as prominent on Madagascar as on the African Mainland, especially when considering Mozambique where Syrah is located.
