RE:RE:RE:RE:Looks like some news is coming....Sounds like music to the ear but Don Gracey is a Lobbyist for CG Group, working on behalf of Georgian Bay Biomed, which is building a facility in Ontario. Tim Boosarma is CEO of that same company. The majority of these quotes are from either one of them, so they are biased, but also near from the source of future legislation. Here's a few more:
''Mr. Gracey said, based on talks with provincial government officials, provinces expect to
have most of the responsibility in terms of regulating the retail market for recreational marijuana, which makes it likely provincial liquor stores will handle sales. He
said consideration has also been given to selling it in pharmacies. The unnamed source said it could make sense for major marijuana producers to cooperate on operating retail outlets, such as major breweries do with The Beer Store in Ontario. He said provincial liquor retail operations, such as the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO), might not be in a great position to quickly assume responsibility for recreational marijuana''
What Bruce Linton has advocated since a long time:
“So maybe you determine for the first six months or 12 months you’ll just do it as a through-the-mail thing, the way it’s done now, and then you take the data of where it’s going to and you say, ‘Okay LCBO, here’s a place to go, here’s a place to go, here’s a place to go.’ ”
''Mr. Boosarma said he’ll be pressing upon government the need for strict labelling and quality
regulations on recreational marijuana, with “stringent inspection processes that help ensure public safety and trust in the consumption of recreational marijuana.” He said a fewer number of large production facilities, versus many smaller operations, would be easier for the government to monitor for quality control''.
