RE:RE:RE:RE:Hundreds of orders in jeopardy!

RE:RE:RE:RE:Hundreds of orders in jeopardy! Pierre, the reason the March payment by Quebec didn't happen is because Bombardier temporarily refused it. Now why would they do that? The primary reason that can be deduced is the Delta deal was imminent and they didn't want any perception of government intervention. Embraer is making the case that it's the prospect of government intervention that allowed Bombardier to do the deal, but that's going to be a lot harder for them to prove than if Quebec gave them $500 million 4 weeks earlier and then they wrote off $500 million.

"and wait on word from Ottawa as to whether it will join them as a partner.''"  Think about it.

The deal between Quebec and BBD was negotiated last year during the federal election with no participation whatsoever from the federal government.

Now they spin the delay as "waiting for Ottawa".  That makes no sense at all since Ottawa was not a participant in the original negotiations or deal.

Maybe Quebec now realized it was not such a good idea to buy half the C Series for $1.3 billion of Quebec taxpayer money while leaving control of the operations to the families.

I suspect BBD and Quebec made their deal anticipating they could bully whoever wins the federal election in matching the $1.3 billion offered by Quebec.  Obviously that strategy is not working.  Ottawa made it clear they want to help but will NOT be bullied to spend Canadian taxpayer money and giving it to the Bombardier/Beaudoin families.

So much for speculation.

Back to the facts:  Quebec made a deal to give BBD money starting March 31st and they did NOT.  As to why it is all speculation or political spinning.
