I know we will receive 80% of our Ubr shares in "newco" but is there a length of time we need to keep those shares in newco. Essentially it's free shares which is free money so wouldn't most people just sell to get that capital. Thanks.

I chuckle a little when I hear that the newco shares are going to be free, they are not actually free,
you already own them, they are combined with the value of the Silicon shares at the moment.
When the spit happens, the total value that you presently own in UBR shares will be split between the two companies shares, HPQ shares + Newco shares, such that the dollar value of the combined total of the two companies shares that you will own, will at the moment the split happens, be the same as the non split company either UBR or HPQ whichever it happens to be.
so if the split is 20% Newco 80%HPQ, HPQ will drop in share value to 80% of what it was immediately before the spit, and this will be made up with newco shares which would have 20% of the value of HPQ imediately before the split happened.
nothing comes for free.
Does this not depend on how the market currently views it's old asset. Have they forgotten about that and solely priced in on purevap, with a 6N plus which we are hoping for will that pressure override the spin off ?
The 20% was of course just an example, it could be 35% 60% or whatever the evaluation estimates of the Gold assets are at the moment the split happens. I imagine this would be based on the (market) value of UBR prior to the PUREVAP influence, perhaps corrected for the change in the gold price since that time possibly.
In my opinion this is likely in the range of 20%.
all my honest opinion.
