RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:NEWS- Gold Standard Reports Positive Metallurgical TestTNT777, it isn't that it is real bad, it just isn't optimal. If you were to look at the Long Canyon project that Newmont bought from Fronteer Gold and looked at the Cottle Roll, and the Column test you would see that the oxide ore on this project had most 90 + % recoveries. It was also one of the fastest recoveries seen in NV history. G. Symons was also the consultant on that project. It is one of the reasons Newmont was willing to pay what it did for Fronteer.
In a USGS publication… not sure how reliable but…
Emigrant is a ROM heap leach operation with gold recovery. They send the pregnant solution to a three-stage Carbon-in-Column recovery process. Average grade is 0.62 g/t gold, and they recover 58%. Long Canyon ore has something like 95+% recovery in 70 days and the grade is much much higher than emigrant or Pinion.
The Coluimn test they plan to do will be much more telling as to what to expect. They should end up doing a 6 inch rock size that would represent Run-of-mine ore. But, like I said before, if you plot the two (10 mesh(2mm) and 200 mesh(0.07mm) on a chart and extrapolate, it looks like you should expect even less recovery.
In the end, after the next set of test they will for ways to optimize recovery. But these numbers are important to look at as it is a tell as to what may happen to the resource numbers in a PEA.
