Jan 27, 2015 (SeeNews) - Dutch biotechnology company BBB Therapeutics has been declared bankrupt, insolvency administrator Marc Udink said Monday, quoted by news agency AFN.

Last week the company was put under creditor protection, but then it became clear that there was no funding to proceed with ongoing clinical studies.

BBB Therapeutics, which is developing medicines for the treatment of devastating brain diseases, considered in this context a stock exchange listing to raise capital.

A sale to a single party interested in bringing forward the company's research and development (R&D) efforts is now the preferred option, in view of the importance this might have both to the society and medical industry as a whole, the insolvency administrator said
