RE:RE:Slyce is a market leader
RE:RE:Slyce is a market leader Not a market leader because there is no advanced technology involved with Slyce.
If the tech was so great why did they need to fire their CTO?
If there was any technology of value why won't a big company buy Slyce? Is Slyce cheap for a reason?
But, of course there is no technology, they use human tagging to supply the data set which they use to identify products. This can not scale and must be updated everytime a new line of products arrives.
There has been some debate about human tagging on this board. One poster who will remain nameless says human tagging has been "debunked." This nameless poster has gotten everything wrong about slyce for over a year.
Don't take my 'human tagging' word for it, listen to Slyce CEO Ted Mann:
"Our human data center is basically a facility where we custom curate and tag reference image data for all our clients (and much more). Other companies, including all of the above, do not have this capability. In order to use their services, you need to BYOD -- Bring Your Own Data. That is a huge problem, as virtually no retailer has the kind of tagged reference image data that we have curated in house. "
