RE:LocationI've lived in Kelowna since '72 and one thing I can say for sure is that of any place in Canada to have a greenhouse, Kelowna, which is in the heart of the sunny Okanagan, is a damn good choice for one to be.
Kelowna is semi-desert out here. We have had orchards and vineyards out here for forever. We have scorpions, rattlesnakes and cactuses which epitomize a desert like environment. All I'm trying to say is that for Canada, it doesn't really get much better weather wise. It can get hot as frack out here.
I've worked in the past all over Western Canada and the West, Northwest coasts planting forests for at least 2 decades, so I am quite familiar with the weather and terrain of these areas. The weather can be just as hot in many places all over these areas I planted in, however Kelowna seems to have more of it.
When my family first came here in '72,,Kelowna was just covered in orchards all over the place extending way beyond the perimeter of Kelowna in all directions. Things have changed massively since then. A lot of those orchards have been replaced by residential areas or vineyards because grapes are worth way more than apples per sqr foot now, however the one component that remains the same is that weather and environment which drew all these people to grow these orchards to begin with.
History has its lessons and facts to teach us. You can't argue with History.
You all have a good weekend now.
