From Will P stockwatch
From Will P stockwatch Eric Friedland and Tom Peregoodoff's Peregrine Diamonds Ltd.< (PGD) closed unchanged at 22 cents on 214,000 shares. Peregrine ran as high as 31.5 cents from 22 cents following the release of a preliminary assessment of its Chidliak project on Baffin Island. Unfortunately, the stock has since found its way home. Lukas Lundin's Lucara Diamond Corp. (LUC) gained five cents to $3.73 on 1.72 million shares. The company effectively snuffed out rumours that it might be on the prowl to acquire a new diamond project this week when it declared a special dividend of 45 cents per share, payable to shareholders of record on Sept. 2, 2016. The $172-million payout is essentially all the profit Lucara has reaped from its sales of exceptional diamonds mined at Karowe in Botswana over the past two years.
