Great Post on SI board....oh the IRONY

Great Post on SI board....oh the IRONYIts a Greek IRONY that almost simultaneously with GK going into production that DeBeers puts Snapper Lake up for sale, in a blatant admission that the entire project was an unmitigated disaster. And, its not as if any many observers of the diamond scene back in the late 90's KNEW it was a strange (stupid) decision to choose to advance Snapper Lake OVER advancing GK. There were some very informed people at the time who thought that it made no sense whatsoever to choose to put Snap Lake into production over GK but for DeBeers wanting to ice the project and by keeping the diamonds in the ground and trying to smoke out their junior partner MPV. What an ignorant and foolish decision that has turned out to be. To say its laughable would be a massive understatement. Breath IN the stupidity and breathe out the GK production. DeBeers got just what it deserved-massive LOSSES and a big time portion (BIG BIG BIG Time) of CROW PIE! Eat Up Debeers, and enjoy the feast that you have created.....splurge at the dining table and wallow in those massive portions of Humble and Crows Pie served up for you and ONLY YOU (along with your partners at ANGLO) to enjoy, to savor, to engorge!

Patrick Evans and Dermot Desmond surely must be enjoying the Schadenfreude! At least for an evening! Of course, they already have when the decision was made to shutter Snap . But now, the decision to sell it, and rid DeBeers of the stench.....a toast to you DeBeers! A big hearty heady yeasty BEER toast to you! Well Done! Brilliant! Brilliant! Isnt that what the English say? Oh, its not?
