RE:RE:RE:Olympus AGAIN! More than a month ago, I got in touch with the health authorities of two provinces, BC and Quebec. In both cases, they are acutely aware of the problems with the TJF-Q180. They are also aware how Olympus is in the process of updating it's scopes.
In both instances, they have asked their hospitals to warn them of any problems with the new model. In one case, I was told the agency intended to survey it's hospitals for problems in early fall, after the announced August limit for Olympus to update it's scopes. Unfortunately, as in the US, those health agencies cannot compel the hospitals to disclose all that goes on within their walls.
Either an hospital somewhere will go public sooner or later and then Olympus will be in deep, deep intractable problems. Something that will happen sooner or later as the cleaning procedures are still just as exacting and unforgiving.
Or, as suggested by echo, Tso3, the FDA and Olympus are working behind the screen to validate a permanent solution: the VP4.
