RE:RE:MEG's Future

RE:RE:MEG's FutureI think 2 companies are looking at MEG because of their high quality assets and their ability for brownfield expanion.

CVE and IMO.

I don't know if they have approached MEG about a friendly but considering that MEG has been talking to a lot of people, I susepct the topic of complete company sale has already come up.

now we also ahve to remember that MEG has a few large shareholders in CNOOC and private equity fund that own over 30% and they are key to any successful takeover.

get them on board and the rest will follow.

now there is also Paramount with their 3.7 million MEG holdings and any changes to that number either up or down.  I think Clayton might be a key person in any deal especially if he plans to incresse holding.

In the end Canada can't let high quality companies go bust and this might be the right time to make the stronger Canadian oil companies even stronger just as COS tyakeover bt SU has and will make them much stronger in the long term.

IMHO MEG is just too small to complete with the big boys and they need to merge with a stronger Canadian company like CVE or IMO.

let's not get greedy here , I'll take 10 per share in CVE paper or IMO paper any day and sleep much better at night.

a 7 billion dollar deal is good for everyone
