Baffin island tundra

Baffin island tundraFlew about 250 km's north of chidliak last night on a sunset that lasted a couple hours and never did set. The tundra, inland, I saw looked absolutely amenable to an all weather road. I think what I saw would be similar to chidliak. As you started going through the fjords to the east coast did not look easy to do much of anything. The land to water ratio was more like 50/50 at times and the topo seemed a bit more bumpy. Also did not get a warm and fuzzy feeling that the water part did not have some topo bumps hidden 1m below surface. Bringing anything in or over the fjords east coast on chidliak would be a tough go. I have some pictures and a short video that I will look at and probably post on the blog at some point. As far as sikwane...sill/sheet and variable is not that good. The fact that you can get an 8 metre intersection at a very shallow depth (with 30m of surface??) in a cheap cost country is intriguing. I would call it just as interesting as kdi's sheet exercise..both could be a futile exercise. Dr. Grutter still needs to prove his worth, his salary, his title, and his big pool of options....still waiting.
