I figure I would change the subject just to break up the usual stuff. The only time I met a group of investors from a chat board was many years ago. In this case it was the yahoo chat board for the stock 4 Kids Entertainment (KDE) at the time. This was the single greatest stock run I've been involved with. My broker at the time (great at finding the needle in the haystack) purchased this stock at $4.50. He told me they just got awarded the exclusive marketing rights for everyting in the US for a nintendo card game Pokemon. I had not heard of Pokemon but he was aware of it in Japan and he told me if it catches on like it did in Japan this stock will absolutely rocket. Pokemon had not yet been introduced to the US. The company had 30 million shares. This company got a piece of everything cartoons, cards, figures, cups you name it they got a cut. Well to make a long story short the we bought and it took a couple months to get Pokemn to the US. Then it happened, Pokemon exploded. The stock went from 7 to 97 in 9 months. Some days it was trading 60 million shares and the biggest single day was up $14, with several 8-10 point days. They started with 10 million in the bank and 12 months later had 100 million in the bank Unbelievable!!!.  It's still my biggest haul in one single stock.

Anyway the chat board was on fire, especially those of us who were in early. One of the few times I was a serious cheerleeder. There was nothing bad to say, All the company did was sign licensing deals and watch the money roll in. Kind of like a streaming company but they only paid Nintendo one time up front. We decided when the stock hit $75 we would all go to Vegas and celebrate, About 100 people showed at a conferance room we rented the first night and we spent a couple days enjoying our spoils. It was fun to put faces to the internet ID's. The funniest Id was someone Jumpen would like to meet. Her internet ID was pinkrhinowoman, LOL.
