RE:I broke the calculator.Just for the record...no calculators were broken.  That's just scientific notation...

20 million US tons  = 5.83 E+11 troy ounces = 5.83 *10^11 troy ounces = 583 billion troy ounces.

Multiply that by $1342.2 (price of gold per ounce at this time): $782 trillion.



That being said, we've already been down this road fellas.  This is a waste of time exercise as they have no intention of producing gold from sea water any time soon. Period.

p.s. Nuthouse (and anyone else using number on here): keep in mind that ALL numbers need units.  When you said, 20 million US tons = 6.4 E+11, my first thought was, "What the hell is that number's units...this is completely meaningless."  Just something to keep in mind.
