RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Dividend...
Hey Tony. I'm on the same page with Xbox and Incube relating the dividend. It really is important and from various perspectives. First and most, it gives you some money every Q. I get around 2K in US dollars. It covers all interest I pay to my broker and the interest on my LOC which is fixed at 2.99% and the dividend is around 5%. Those 2% not much but it makes sense. If the dividend is abolished I'll sell part and pay off my LOC. Another thing. I don't know in which jurisdiction you are, I'm Canadian. Our taxation rules provide for 15% +5% federal and provincial tax credits on dividends. Generally, taxes in Canada are high, higher than in States. With dividends it's different. If you have a dividend income of $100K and no other income you'd pay just 8K in taxes. Unbelievable. Working income would be taxed at 40-45% range. So, dividend is important from this point of view. It is also important when the sp goes down. You try to get more so your % return in the form of dividend goes up. And that's not only us, retailers, who calculate this things. Big guys do,too. It creates a floor for the SP. Without it the floor (or resistance levels) would be less firm or clear and it would be harder to justify buying low because it can , without dividend, go even lower. Catching the falling knife is not my principle, had it before, not going there anymore. So, long story short, I'd love NSU to keep the dividend in its current form (would be great) or in corrected form (ok as well). The sp appreciation will come in due time. I'm counting on it, too and I hope it will be much bigger than all dividends all together. But while we are waiting for that, the dividend sweetens the wait. And it demonstrates the company's strength. NSU has a good management team. That matters a lot. I'm not saying I can close my eyes and let them lead me somewhere, but in my 12 years experience in the market I saw a lot of different types. These guys are better than many others I have encountered. Still, it's a stock market, you know, no guarantees. But that's as much as we can get. I think they are doing the right thing and in a decent manner. I hope they won't change. Tired of waiting myself. But, again, with the dividend in place waiting at least has some sense and reward. Enough said. GL to all of us. Incube, no worries, I'm trading this stock since 2005. I hope I know what I'm doing. We are in the right place. My stake in this company is very important to me.
