I spent 4 paragraphs explaining who Waterton was, how they did NuLegacy a huge favor, but it didn't fit their business model because their fixed costs of due dilligence are disprportionately large for a loan of just a few million.
Midway did have a JV with Barrick similar to NuLegacy's. But Midway became a (failed) miner, something I tried to illustrate NUG doesn't plan on. NUG has no debt, already seems to have a better resource, and better investors. Waterton senses that NUG doesn't want to manage a mine, so there's no fit.
