RE:Birchcliff lowered operating costs $12.00 may be a bit of an understatement lenihan222, but I appreciate your conservatism, -it makes for a more credible post; but $12.00 may just be the 1st stop on the tour (albeit a pleasant one). And judging from today’s performance (realizing that one day does not a market make, nor a trend), it was impressive nonetheless. I’m of the opinion that Birchcliff is going to suck the investable brains out of its peers in the Alberta patch much like a gale force wind that strips a tree of its leaves and in this case deposits them neatly at Birchcliff’s doorstep.
Of course a word of caution. Even specific company advantages, as huge as they may seem at the time, e.g. excellent management, a sizable ethical investor or the Gordondale purchase, -though each of these on their own merits would most times prove sufficient to turn the tide they can actually fizzle out in the face of macro realities. Witness the air pocket we’ve flown through these last few years, -if indeed that could be considered flying. After all that and all that there still remains the uncertainty of a stock market rally long in the tooth that could throw yet another spanner into the works….. or some other damned thing!
But still liking my chances I push my chips onto Red 18. GLTA
