RE:More to come from drill hole MDE-16-218
RE:More to come from drill hole MDE-16-218The selection of what is assayed is a cost saving measure when a geologist is concentrating on high grade (vein type deposits). I f the focus changes as when you are now looking at bulk tonnage, low grade it becoms necessary to include all gold values and in order to get all of the gold values you have to assay all of the core in order to pick up the one gram per ton rock.
From the comments on the the recent release of assay results in order to reassess the nearby zones drilled previosly it will be necessary to assay a lot more of the previously drilled holes to see if there is a large low grade halo near the high grade veins or whether the rock is barren outside of the veins.
A large, low grade, open pit with occasional high grade occurences changes the Martinere system completely. If the country rock carrries economic values at grades similar to Detour we could have a game changing situation. Rather than a few thousand ounces of high grade we may have much more gold at lower grade. Hang on tight as it will take some time to have a realistic handle on what the recent press release really means.
