RE:DW interview Sept 9th
RE:DW interview Sept 9thFor an open pit the grade that is required to give a major some interest does not have to be anywhere near 4g /ton. Open pits that are currently operating and those that are under development have a total metal value in the rock somewhere near $70.00 per ton. If the deposit has massive tonnnage potential thent the grade could well be abut 1.5 g/t or even lower. What is needed now is to see if the tons are there at somewhere close to this number.. This grade allows fro a decent stripping ratio and if the tons are there then the mine life could be somewhere near 20 years and now the majors will be lining up. If one is looking at a starter pit and an eventual underground operation then the continuity of the vein structure takes over for the long term and a lot of deep drilling will become necessary. The jury is out as to what Balmoral actually looking for. Darrin Wagner has to give us more clarification as to direction.
