Questions about long term viability

Questions about long term viabilityHi,  I am new here.  I was attracted to this discussion because I was a Valeant investor and with all that has happened in the past year I sold.

I am a long time buy and hold type of investor that was previously looking for growth.  Valeant was impressive until it exploded and I have done extreme research to see where I went wrong.

It turns out that mergers and acquisitions can sometimes lead companies to do funny things with the numbers so I no longer trust PE ratios and financial numbers that worked in the past.

I am starting to short now that RBC Direct Investing has upgrade their interface and reminds me everytime I long in that very experienced traders and investors short overpriced stocks.  I'm not sure if Valeant will survive but tracing its origins, I found its ties to Biovail, to Mark Thompson and to Concordia.

How many small investors that self direct invest are shorting Concordia because of its questionable practices, complete lack of investor trust and possible default on its obligations?   The CEO has a trail of destruction of shareholder value, does anyone have any expectations this will be different here?

I have access to "Technicals" via the RBC quotes page. It's from Recognia.  Are there other site that provides better "Technical Analysis".

Thank you.
