RE:RE:RE:RE:NXSjust old blast from the past that has me in this...........In the case of the Carolin Mine, exploration and ore definition programs before and during production were successful in developing a mineable reserve and tracing that mineralization underground for some 500 metres. These were traditional programs with tight- spaced drill holes that were more production oriented than exploration driven. Subsequent to the perhaps inevitable mine shutdown in 1984, Athabaska Resources funded significant exploratory underground drilling programs in 1995 and 1996. This work attempted to expand the known mineralization as defined during mining from 1982-84. Underground drilling, 8,640 metres in total, did discover new mineralized zones to the north and west of the underground workings but the Company ran out of funding and the mine could not be advanced to production.-------------------------------------------- OK so we know they left alot of gold there, but times have changed tailings dam failures up farther north. wont mention the name but it set BC rules to a huge look into its protocal. that hurt. but we go foward. OK so you say the carolin mine was no good because of bad recoveries and going way to fast to try and get the gold out. your right they did move to fast. people here in vancouver moved that stock to 50 bucks back in the day when you had board runners at the VSE exchange. Then came the battle of who and what with names and lawyers and lots of money could take the property. well that was going on for about 8 years---------------------The Carolin Mine operated from 1982 to 1984 and closed at the end of 1984 due to poor gold recoveries, low grades due primarily to dilution, and low gold prices.Athabaska Gold Resources eventually went into receivership and filed for bankruptcy in 2001. The property and claims were purchased in October 2002 from the receiver by Tamerlane Ventures Inc. In 2004, Century Mining Corporation optioned the claims from Tamerlane and subsequently optioned the property and claims to Module Resources Inc----------------------. All I am saying in this post is it will be done the right way this time round. happy days. ttfn Ohno
