RE: Raouf Halim Mr. Halim served for ten years as President, CEO, & Board Member of Mindspeed Technologies (NASDAQ:MSPD), a highly successful spin-off communications infrastructure fabless semiconductor company from Conexant Systems. Following the IPO in 2003, Mr. Halim rebuilt the executive team, strategically repositioned the company’s product portfolio, and developed and executed a growth strategy for High Performance Analog which grew at a 14% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) and became 50% of company’s revenue with 70% gross margins – representing the majority of the company’s valuation.
Previously, Mr. Halim was senior vice president and general manager of the network access division of Conexant Systems, Inc., formerly Rockwell Semiconductor Systems. Mr. Halim joined Rockwell in 1991 and held a number of increasingly senior business and technical positions, including vice president, and design leader for VLSI engineering. He began his career at Hayes Microcomputer Products where he was responsible for developing system architecture, designing and developing advanced products, and formulating specifications critical to the introduction of first-of-their-kind technologies and applications.
Active in a number of industry associations and community organizations, Mr. Halim serves in several advisory roles within the University California, Irvine including: The Foundation – Board of Trustees, Chief Executive Roundtable, School of Engineering Leadership Council, Engineering Advisory Board, and the Roundtable Steering Committee. He is a member of the advisory board at Aggios, Inc. and serves as a director on the boards of OCTANe and Calit2 (California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology)
Mr. Halim’s Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering was earned at Georgia Institute of Technology, and his Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Electro Physics was received from the University of Alexandria, Egypt.
