Brien Lundin, in the September, 2016, edition of the Gold Newsletter, refreshes his buy of Energy Fuels Inc., recently $2.93. He said buy in October, 2015, at $3.70 and in April, 2016, at $2.88. A $1,000 investment for each of the two buys is now worth $1,807. Energy Fuels is the largest uranium producer in the United States, with a conventional operation at its White Mesa mill in Utah and an ISR (in situ recovery) project at Nichols Ranch in Wyoming. The company also recently acquired the Alta Mesa ISR project in Texas. Its assets are operating far below capacity, meaning it should be in an enviable position once uranium prices rally, says Mr. Lundin. He notes that in the second quarter, the company took in revenue of $7-million (U.S.) from the sale of 100,000 pounds of U3O8 (triuranium octoxide) at $70 (U.S.) a pound. These results "didn't light the world on fire" -- and in fact Energy Fuels posted a $10.3-million (U.S.) loss for the quarter -- but Mr. Lundin still sees them as indicative of how well Energy Fuels would do in a better price environment. "Simply put, no company in this space is better positioned to rocket higher when high uranium prices return to form," he concludes. The stock is a buy at current levels.
