RE:RE:Transformational THC Beverage MarketNed, nice post. I also wanted to chime in on some related points from your two posts.
The MJ sector is a generational opportunity and also one in which investors can get in on the exact ground floor where there will be multi-decades of tremendous growth and innovation. It will benefit humanity in a positive way, where cures and environmental solutions will no longer be hidden from the masses by the greedy, selfish, wealthy few.
Similar eras in the past are the dotcom boom, railroads, and introduction of cars. It will likely play out the same way. You will literally get hundreds, if not, thousands of companies sprouting out spewing some business model involving MJ. 90% of those firms will go out of business and you only get a handful of survivors that become dominant players.
The straight forward logic and initial easy money growth will come from.companies building the infrastructure and related goods. In the dotcom era it was the fibre optic and wireless networking companies along with the ISP's. In the MJ era the equivalent are the cannabis producers. Both made/make very good money for investors, however, be aware that these basic goods and services will eventually become commodities after the strong initial euphoric growth from legalizing recreational MJ.
The truly big money measured in billions will be made from companies offering innovative products focused on establishing a strong brand presence. To relate to the dotcom analogy, sure, companies such as Cisco made good money for shareholders, but the dominant players that reaped the billions were branded innovative products offered by the likes of Amazon, Facebook, Netflix, Google, etc.
Prior to prohibition of MJ, I think I read somewhere that most folks actually consumed teas or concentrates, and that smoking weed was a byproduct of prohibition. So companies such as TNY are strategically positioned and their low capital intensive path taken to outsource the production and bottling services makes it lower risk and more shareholder friendly. It will be companies such as those that invent some cannabis based cure for a serious disease or ailment, or one that creates a cannabis based food or beverage product that is consumed by the masses globally, or a new environmentally sustainable solution to a dirty everyday industrial problem that will reap the bulk of the big money in the MJ era.
