What happened?People will soon realize that the Aphria's IP agreement was a good thing. Royalties are an amazing thing, a company in Arizona valued the standards Aphria set as a low cost producer. There cannot be a better deal, unless you have a state's license in Arizona, you cannot actually sell there. International drug treaty that US and Canada are currently prevents recreational drug to be sold to each other. That is until US decides to leave, which I doubt they will within the next 4 years. The only way you can sell in the states is if you obtained licenses in the states and build a facility there.
Aphria is focusing on the Canadian market and letting the Arizona company do their own thing in that state, while receving 10% every couple months.
The two companies will soon be a billion dollar company, Aphria is in a win-win situation.
