La Soledad Zone With regards to Ram Zone, 8 drill holes were intially planned. It looks like they completed 11 holes over the northern 500m (the full length of Ram is 3.8 km).
La Soledad drilling to begin soon.
``The Company further reports it is currently mobilizing the drill rig to the La Soledad Zone, located approximately 1,000 meters south of the La Cigarra silver resource.``
La Sodedad is about 1.0 - 1.5 km long.
In the past , Northair found a dump rock with 277 g/t silver and also identified channnel material of 85 g/t silver over 2.1m. La Soledad also provided a sample of 498 g/t silver over .90m in the past.
Earlier in 2016, Kootenay provided results from a full sample program at La Soledad (which Northair likely conducted suring 2015 and early 2016). The best sampe provided 252 g/t Ag and 20% Pb (lead).
La Soledad appears to have a similar aspect to Ram zone and Nogalera Zone, with regards to the mineralization sitting under capped (quartzite) rock.
From May 5/16 NR: ``........contains a number of mine dumps and historic mine workings that exploited a series of silver bearing quartz veins.``
Also: ´´Kootenay believes that the mineralization along the Soledad Fault Zone represents leakage through impermeable quartzite caprock, potentially overlying undiscovered silver deposits. The Soledad Zone, lies in what is believed to be the extension of the La Cigarra hosting structure, where silver mineralization can be traced intermittently for at least 2 kilometers south of the main La Cigarra silver deposit.´´
Essentially, the working theory is that the main mineralized body is sitting below this top rock, and that this body represents a buried extension of the San Gregorio and Las Carolinas resource bodies.
It looks like we are about to test that theory.
The mine dump rocks and historical mine works suggest that small artisanal miners performed primative mining at La Soledad here in the past. As a result, there must be something mineable at Soledad, potentially below the caprock. It`s just a matter of how meaningful it is, I believe.
My blind guess is that Kootenay likes (or at least does not dislike) what they see (with naked eyes) in the raw cores at Ram Zone (prior to receiving actual assay results back from the lab). I say this due to them making such a quick pivot towards to La Soledad. The theories at Ram Zone are somewhat similar to the theories at La Soledad, especially with regards to mineralization sitting underneath a caprock. If they had tossed out this theory at Ram Zone then they would not have positioned the rig so quickly over to La Soledad. There are plenty of other non-caprock (high potential) advance targets to test on the property, such as La Navidad, La Colorada and La Borracha.
