I don't think the "dream team" understood everything either.
They figured one or two runs at the wafers and the thing would come together.
Buying Denselight was a no brainer because they had lab and fab and Indium Phosphide know how.
Same with BB Photonics, indium phosphide stuff for lasers
BUT, mutiple tries at the wafers is a buck and big time burner. Bit of panic set in and "what do we do now/".
That was all pretty obvious with the last CC.
Gallium Arsinide went from first product, end of 2016 to last product, sometime 2018.
BUT long and medium range trascievers based on Indium phoshide wafers, Denselight's "DensePic" tech and BB photonics laser stabilization tech is still on and can all be accomplished in house at Denaselight.
The EDB money will go to getting them gallium arsinide ability in house at Denselight too.
Long road, but there seems to be a plan in the mayhem.
