I've sometimes been lucky to find myself with an oversized position in a single investment - and I stress lucky. I agree that running such positions is when the big bucks are made. However, I think Kensho and Ferret made goods points - be careful.
I would not be sanguine about losing 30% on a 55% investment. It would cloud my subsequent judgements.
Passing on your views on the potential price of oil, I know from your posts that you recognise the potential value of a well managed expansion of the GSA hub. So you see long term potential in Ithaca, if we can dodge a Delek buyout. But short term price movement will hinge firstly on the Stella update at the Q3 numbers, I don't want or expect an update before then, and secondly on the outcome of the OPEC meeting. I've rode easier oversized positions- good luck!
