RE:Hand Holding a New Investor

RE:Hand Holding a New InvestorLevel 2 is something that you can pay for monthly to look at ALL  the bids/asks for a specific stock.

Without Level2 you can only see the current price, the highest bids, and the lowest asks.  Level 2 gets you the whole picture.  It CAN be an indication of which side of the equation holds most of the pressure (either on the sell or buy side).  It's definitely not an exact science and doesn't always fall the way you might think it would based on Level 2.

It is a necessary tool for day-traders.  For beginner investors such as yourself, I would say that it is better to do your research in the company and not into stock market trivialities.  These things are hard to decipher for seasoned veterans (whom often get it wrong).  Better to stick with fundamentals and if you see a company that you think will do well, buy it at a price you're comfortable with and ignore day-by-day fluctuations.

Hope that helps!
