Boeing almost went bankrupt in the 70's due to the 747 development costs.

Bombardier's Cseries seems to be following the same pattern as the project is almost 2.5 billion over its original budget.

After orders for the 747 came rolling in the 80's, the stock skyrocketed. This might happen to bombardier as well if fuel costs concerns will increase orders.
