The Bridesmaid Could Be The WinnerSo I'm watching the Kirkland Lake/Newmarket merger unfold, I see the counter offer of Gold Fields/ Silver Standard being pulled. Each deal either way involves over a Billion $$. Lot of money! So I'm thinking, if Kirkland and Newmarket merge, where does that leave the other two. The answer might be Silver Standard buying Goldcorp's Los Filos! They, S.S, have done this before, as a matter of fact with Goldcorp and Barrick. In 2014, they bought Marigold from those guys for about $225 mill. Marigold still had approx 2 million ounces in it, over a remaining 9 year life. A steal at $125 per ounce, mill included. Marigold is a high volume low grade op similar to Los Filos. Los Filos has about 5-6 years left in it with about the same 1.6-1.7 million ounces low grade high volume similarities. Goldcorp is a very motivated seller wanting this off the books before the year is thru. So, we can soon have a new neighbor, and somebody who will be looking for more rock, as in Ore-rock-o...for 2017....
