Nogalera Zone - (high-grade) polymetallic potentialThe current exploration area at La Cigarra could end up with 3 separate silver systems, with possibly a fourth. The main system is the 6 – 7 km long San Gregorio-Las Carolinas system, which includes La Borracha and La Soledad. The second confirmed silver system is Ram, with potential of up to 3.8 km length. The third silver system is a bit more grey (Nogalera-La Colorada (a potential 5 km trend)). There has not been any drilling as yet. Thus, insufficient info available to confirm if it is a separate silver system or if it has a relationship with one of the other systems. Then, we have La Navidad, with an outside possibility of being the fourth silver system in this area of La Cigarra currently being explored. Originally, it was believed that La Navidad was some sort of offshoot of the San Gregorio-Las Carolinas silver system. It could still be. However, it seems like it has grown. It now seems to have sampling length of over 1.5 km, and is running parallel to San Gregorio-Las Carolinas.
I think Kootenay will be drilling either Nogalera or La Colorada in 2017. If possible, I would prefer that Kootenay drill either Nogalera or La Colorada in the first half of 2017 to confirm my suspicion of the Nogalera-La Colorada trend being a third (separate) silver system in the current area of La Cigarra being explored.
La Colorada has large scale potential for silver and gold (around an intrusive centre, with the zone being 1400m * 300m), perhaps in a bulkier tonnage (medium grade) type of environment. Nogalera seems to have high-grade polymetallic type potential. It is interesting how La Colorada and Nogalera are both reporting decent to strong gold content within the soil/rock samples. Perhaps this provides a hint of a relationship here, between the 2 zones, and maybe one reason Kootenay is now marking this area as a possible trend (instead of 2 completely isolated/independent targets).
Northair performed sampling work at Nogalera from 2013 to 2015 and released the results in late 2015 (in 2 separate news releases).
Nogalera is 700m – 1 km long. As hinted above, it has never been drilled before.
It is a very exciting prospect. The small-scale artisanal miners worked it in the past and left some very interesting dump rocks behind. What is especially interesting is both the channel samples and the dump rocks are showing some very strong sample results.
As mentioned in a previous post, Nogalera has a cap-rock environment that is somewhat similar to Ram and La Soledad. The cap-rock outcrops in spots on the property, instead of normal mineralized bedrock outcrops. I think the channel samples could be from faulting (cracking) in places along the cap-rock outcrops, which exposed a bit of the mineralization (that have come to the surface via the faults/fractures/cracks). Northair`s working theory was that the brunt of the mineralization is trapped beneath the base of the cap-rock (quartzite rock).
Given the work done by past small-scale artisanal miners (based on dump rock and mine workings found), and new channel samples (gathered by Northair from 2013 to 2015) from exposed minerals in fault areas (within the quartzite outcrop rocks), it is clear that Nogalera is mineralized. I think it is now a matter of how mineralized it is. We are not going to know until we drill it.
The samples suggest we could find some interesting areas along the zone.

There are actually 2 Nogalera mineralized structures (west and east). All of the samples above are from the west structure. The east structure runs parallel to the west structure. ``The eastern segment of the West Flank target is not as well defined, but is exposed in a shallow shaft where two samples averaged 100 g/t silver and 0.7 g/t gold.``
Here is a map of Nogalera (pink line is west structure and green line is east structure):
