RE:China Coal-fired to Nuclear conversion rapidly cuts 30% CO2
I wonder if they can use the same technology in Alberta. They seem to be willing to phase out their coal generating plants sometime between now and 2030.
I would think that they could even consider nulclear generation for their oil production from the oil sands they have. I gather quite a bit of fuel is used to produce the oil and most of that fuel is not carbon neutral. For the amount of energy that needs to go into the production of bitumen oil, it really makes me wonder that they haven't started to install nuclear generation for the production of the oil yet.
