What is it with some on thi board about buying a proven already in service SAR  C295 aircraft. BBD has nothing to offer today that meets requirements. The current Canadian fleet is old, needs more maintenance, spare parts, old and less fuel efficient. I could understand if BBD had a similar product but it does not. Not wishful thinking just a fact. Yes probabably the Q could have been modified for the job, but at what price and would it have paid off?

Right now n my opinion they are focussing and their bread and butter business. Cash is short and would have little impact on the books. SAR is a very niche segment as you can tell if you look up the how many have sold.

Before getting all bent up on this, how much would BBD have to invest to get the plane to market and even then they would need firm orders to even start the program which would take how many years?

SAR's need the aircraft today not 10 years from now.

Some should stop taking everything the competitors sell and do and focuss on what BBD is doing to get on the right track.
