RE:RE:RE:Possible BuyoutI had originally thought $27/share would be a good valuation for the buyout, but after doing a bit more investigating I believe I may be too low.
the Three Gorges Company (which is one of the companies bidding for NPI) in June 2016 purchased 80% controling interest including debt (link below) in an 80 turbine, 288 mega watt wind facility for 1.7 billion euros ($2.36 canadian).
without getting into debt (which for the most part is well managed by NPI) and we look solely at NPI's mega watt capabilities for off shore wind (i didnt include NPI's other sources of mega watt power) we could see $7.62 billion (CDN) on NPI's off shore mega watt power soley.
I know this is a rinkydink way to look NPI's valuation, but it does open my eyes on the actual potential for this sale!...given a straight mega watt purchase using Blackstone's "WindMW" sale as a comparable for NPI, we could have a valuation of about $40/share.
Just sayin...I hope I am right.
strap on your helmets, its going to be quite a ride!
