Will Zone 5 to be included in winter drill program also?
Will Zone 5 to be included in winter drill program also?Orenada Zone 4 will be in the winter drill program. Triangle Too will be in the winter drill program.
Triangle Too was only tested at shallow depth in the first round, perhaps averaging somewhere around 150 - 225m vertical depth - likely including an overburden top layer. They hit all of the key geologic features that host gold resources at the neighbouring Triangle deposit (Integra Gold):
* diorite rocks
* intrusive plugs
* shear fault structures
* quartz-tourmaline veins
* pyrite (pathfinder) minerals
* gold in veins
Gold was found in 5 or the 7 holes. The gold found thus far (at shallow levels) is likely insufficient to map out an economical deposit. However, the environment is ideal for bearing an economic gold resource. Given the success of the neighbouring Triangle property, in this same geological environment, basic logic would suggests we should have at least a decent chance to find economic gold content at greater depth at Triangle Too.
In addition, Alexandria only tested the 2 main Triangle Too plugs. In total, we seem to have 12 separate Triangle Too plugs/porphyries to drill trest.
With regards to Zone 5, on Oct. 19/16 Alexandria annouced 9 new drill targets at Zone, based on a geophysical survey conducted down past drill holes.
The 9 new drill targets were identified from work done on 12 historical holes.
Zone 5 is a breccia - 1.8 km long. Together, Zone 5 and Hogg Zone (a Breccia also, and maybe a skarn), has a continuous exploration length of around 2.5 km.
Given the strong correlation between high gold-copper assays, copper and iron sulfides in drill core and geophysical electrical conductors, it is very encouraging for us finding something positive. We are likely to find positive results both downhole and off-hole.
I believe the chances are good that a deposit is sitting at Zone 5, waiting to be mapped out. I think drilling the 9 new targets could be revealing.
In 2015, Alexandria tested Zone 5 with a single hole and hit 23.1m of 1.66 g/t gold eq in hole15-056 – including 13.6m of 2.23 g/t gold eq.
In addition, historical hole 40A penetrated the breccia near-surface, with 15.3m of 1.9 g/t gold eq.
Nearby to hole 40A is hole 30A, with 9.5m of 2.5 g/t gold eq.
There is also historical hole 31A – located about 400m east of the holes I previously mentioned. Hole 31A hit (likely) the upper edge of the breccia (south), and provided 16m of 2.67 g/t gold eq.
Additional historical holes found in past reports:
* 1.04% Cu and 1.94 g/t Au over 8.84m (this is about 3.5 g/t Au eq over 8.84m)
* 10.73 g/t Au over 3.65m
