1 km east of Orenada 2 (along the Break) - revisitedI posted about this area back in October. Since then, we received drill results for Orenada 2. We now have a much better idea of what the Orenada 2 model looks like.
With this new model in mind for Orenada 2, I am seeing even more similarities for this area 1 km east of Orenada 2.
This new area, exactly along the Cadillac Break, has seen very little exploration in the past. It gives me the impression that it could be a mini Orenada 2.
The Cadillac Break is 150 - 200m wide in this area. Alexandria sank a single hole (AAX-07-09) in 2007. That hole hit 4 separate bodies of mineralization. It gives me the impression that the drill hole hit 4 separate veins. One drill hole doesn`t tell us very much about these veins/structures, naturally. We especially have no info about continuation.
With regards to Orenada 2, we now know that the main vein starts at the surface and runs vertically down for about 300m (still open) and runs horizontally for about 300m length (still open). And, Orenada 2 has several other veins that fun intermittently throughout the Orenada 2 portion of the (150 - 200m wide) Cadillac Break Deformation Corridor.
Though we have very little info (again, with only 1 solitary drill hole) about this new area, there is no reason thus far to rule out the possibility of its veins running in somewhat similar manner to Orenada 2 veins.
Here are the 2007 (single hole) results for this area located 1 km east of Orenada 2, and classified into zones/veins by me, as follows:
Subparallel Zone 1:
* 6.69 g/t Au over 1.0m (nearer to the surface)
(which is widened to 1.54 g/t Au over 4.95m, once you add in lower grade gold ore within the zone)
Subparallel zone 2:
* 16.53 g/t Au over .60m(hit lower down in the drill hole sequence)
(widened to 2.81 g/t Au over 3.84m)
Subparallel Zone 3 (main zone):
* 13.23 g/t Au over 1.00m
(fattened to .95 g/t Au over 23.84m)
Subparallel Zone 4:
* 7.24 g/t Au over 1.00m
(they don`t seem to show any gold around this vein, to fatten it – perhaps it will be fatter in other parts once more testing is done)
You can find the location of this 2007 (exploratory) drill hole via the link below:

Alexandria hit essentially 4 subparallel zones in this new area - from 1 single drill hole. The zones being 4.95m, 3.84m, 23.84m and 1.0m of drill width thickness (not true width). If similar to Orenada 2, these subparallel zones will probably pinch and swell at various places. There could also be other subzones that could show up in other places along structure.
The 3rd zone (the main one) seems to have a heavy disseminated gold component around the high-grade vein, similar to structures at Orenada 2. However, insufficient info to know if heavy (wide) disseminated gold exist near-surface for open pit purposes - similar to Orenada 2.
Take a look at location of DH AAX-07-08 from the linked map above. It is located more than 150m east of AAX-07-09. It shows very low-grade gold, but it is an indication that zones are mineralized for at least another 150m going east. Perhaps the gold grade tapers off as it reaches that point. However, even at that location, there could be economic areas (including high-grade veins) either above or below that AAX-07-08 drill hole spot.
The key is that there is exploration potential in between holes 8 and 9, for at least 150m of length. My guess is that exploration potential also exists for a good 250m to the west. As such, I think the AAX-07-09 subparallel zones can be tested both vertically and horizontally for at least 400m, to see if anything economical resides there.
This is not a priority for Alexandria. However, it hints that there could be other Orenada type deposits sitting there along the Cadillac Break.
