RE:E-mail Response From Dr. Owens (Funds for Drill Program)Calgary63,
Nice reply from Dr. Owens. The info is quite informative. It's just good PR to get back to shareholders with some reasonable reply to keep investors happy (company should not forget that investors are funding the company with their hard-earned money). At least, they took the time to call or write the company for information that they would consider relevant, and should deserve some kind of reasonable response.
AZX is running the company on a shoe string (they don't have dedicated staff to run the PR ), but if the CEO is too busy to handle it all, then it would be a good idea to delegate some of the tasks to others, e.g. Mary Vorvis who has a title of Corporate Development and Investor Relations...or other people who can answer simple inquiries.
You seemed to have better luck than me, since you have called, but AZX does not seem to respond well (or at all) with e-mails, at least in my experience. Note: I have have contacts many companies via e-mail and in some cases, I have direct and detailed replies from CEOs rather than PR staff.
However, this is a good start from AZX,... and thanks for sharing the info with fellow posters/readers.
PS: What AZX needs is to beef up the information on their website. A few simple things would help
- Jan 2017 Corp Presentation (latest Presentation is 1 Nov 2016). Should put emphasis on the basic strategy (those points on the e-mail are good) and include a timeline chart. Tell people the target dates for drilling program, RE, PEA, finacing requirements, etc...and stick with them.
- Provide the list of significant shareholders. Eastmain has an excellent slide ( #5) listing shareholding of various companies/groups/insiders, right down to 0.1% (nothing to hide), link below.
https://www.eastmain.com/_resources/ER%20-%20Corporate%20Presentation%20-%20161110.pdf
- Provide links to interviews with CEO (free coverage) and a list of analysts coverage.
- Provide links to presentation at major conferences/meetings
- NR with relevant information, publish tables with all results, rather than just highlights, show more graphics, e.g. cross sections and 3-D models.
- Let investors know more about the data (and future plan), so they can assess the drill results themselves. Investors could be very effective in propagating the good results to others (free adverstisement for the company).
Next time if you have a chance to talk to Dr. Owens, kindly pass along some of the above comments to him. This company has an excellent portfolio which could be unlocked to bring out a lot more value for shareholders. But, exploration alone is not enough, it would need to be effectively sprinkled with some promotion to spice up the portfolio (borrow a page or two from promoter Robert Friedland's playbook).
Cheers,
GH
